| The Grown Up's project was a break-away for Jeff and for all the performers involved. This was to be an opportunity to create some music that (during the mid-1980's) was unfit for the air waves. (Real music by real musicians!) The Grown Up's (actually, a semi regrouped RICH RAGS) were to lay down nearly ten songs in a one week period and from | |||||||||||

that point, decide on which, if any, had the potential for mastering and distribution. Considering that members flew in from all over North America for the project, and few had heard all the pieces, the logic behind the sessions were taken with a grain of salt. Some classic Rags material was laid down, but it was the diversity and freshness of some of Mark Scott's compositions that actually kept the project moving forward.
Because The Rags were generally known as a Punk-Wave band, the idea of sweet ballads, jazzy numbers and straight forward R & B would prove challenging. The project was successful, and a four-song 12" single for ORANGE RECORDS was the final outcome. |
